Interview with V. Tasioulas on Real Voice 99.5 – Nisyros at the Heart of the UNESCO Candidacy

The President of DIKEN and Director of the Nisyros Geopark, Vangelis Tasioulas, spoke on August 27th on the “Together at 10” program of Real Voice 99.5.

Among other things, he referred to the visitation of the volcano and the Volcanological Museum as a journey that uniquely combines nature, science, and culture, within the Nisyros Geopark. He emphasized the great significance of joining the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network, highlighting the multiple benefits for local communities, the economy, and the island’s international visibility. The evaluation of the candidacy will be completed on September 7th in Chile — a decisive step for Nisyros.
