5th Summer School of Natural Sciences in Nisyros

The Municipal Public Benefit Enterprise of Nisyros (DIKEN), as the management body of the Nisyros UNESCO Global Geopark, in collaboration with the Laboratory of Climatology and Atmospheric Environment, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, is co-organizing the 5th Summer School of Natural Sciences, which will take place in Emporeios, Nisyros, from 1 to 7 June 2026.

The Summer School brings together scientists and participants from various scientific disciplines, including Physics, Geology, Forestry, Ecology, Meteorology, and Climatology, through lectures and field exercises in the unique volcanic landscape of Nisyros.

As an open natural laboratory, Nisyros offers ideal conditions for scientific research, education, and experiential learning, highlighting the importance of understanding and protecting the natural environment.
