Activities in the Context of Earth Day

Nisyros Geopark celebrated Earth Day through a series of events highlighting its geological heritage and the importance of environmental protection.

As part of the programme, primary education teachers from the 4th Directorate of Primary Education participated in a comprehensive set of activities, including a scientific guided tour of the volcano, presentations and educational sessions, gaining first-hand experience of Nisyros’ unique geo-environment.

Understanding natural processes is a key prerequisite for environmental protection and the development of environmental awareness.
