Educational Visit of the 1st EPAL of Rhodes to Nisyros Geopark

At the end of March, Nisyros Geopark had the pleasure of welcoming the environmental team of the 1st EPAL of Rhodes, as part of an educational visit to the island.

During their visit, students had the opportunity to explore Nisyros’ unique volcanic landscape, visit the volcanic crater, traditional settlements of the island, and the Volcanological Museum of Nisyros. They also participated in an informative presentation on the geological and geomorphological significance of the area, as well as the role of the Geopark in the protection, promotion, and sustainable management of natural heritage.

This educational activity offered a meaningful experience of learning and environmental awareness, strengthening students’ connection with the natural environment and highlighting the importance of education in promoting sustainable development.
