Educational Visit of the 3rd Junior High School of Kos to Nisyros Geopark

On Tuesday, May 5th 2026, Nisyros Geopark had the pleasure of welcoming students from all grades of the 3rd Junior High School of Kos as part of an educational visit to the island.

During their visit, students explored the Volcanological Museum of Nisyros and the active volcanic field, gaining valuable insight into the island’s unique geological identity, its volcanic phenomena, and the importance of protecting and promoting its natural heritage.

Through direct contact with Nisyros’ remarkable volcanic environment, students were able to connect theoretical learning with hands-on experience, strengthening their environmental awareness and understanding of sustainable development principles.

At the end of the educational activity, certificates of participation were awarded to all participating students.
