Educational Visit of the Evening Junior High School of Rhodes to Nisyros Geopark

On Sunday, May 10th 2026, Nisyros Geopark had the pleasure of welcoming the Evening Junior High School of Rhodes for an educational visit dedicated to the volcanic heritage of Nisyros.

During the visit, students explored the Volcanological Museum of Nisyros and visited the volcanic crater, gaining firsthand experience of the island’s unique volcanic landscape and geological identity.

Through direct contact with the natural environment and the island’s active geological features, students had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of geosciences and appreciate the importance of protecting and promoting natural heritage.
This initiative offered an inspiring educational experience, connecting learning with nature, scientific knowledge, and the principles of sustainable development.
